Humanitarian, Adjustment, Removing Conditions, and Travel Documents Service Center Now Open

The USCIS announces the opening of the Humanitarian, Adjustment, Removing Conditions, and Travel Documents (HART) Service Center. This office will focus on humanitarian and other workload cases. Through this office, immigrants may process humanitarian aid requests more efficiently and within a shorter period.

Focus Case Types

HART is still in its initial stages and will cover more services as time passes. For now, it will work on the following case types:

  • Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver
  • Bona Fide Determination for U Nonimmigrant Status Petition
  • Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition
  • VAWA-based Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant

HART will operate as a hybrid center for now. However, it will fully transition into a virtual service center with no specific geographic location.

Service Center Goals

According to USCIS Director Ur Jaddou, the HART service center will reduce backlogs of humanitarian cases. In addition, it seeks to function as a fully operational virtual center that caters to multiple time zones with more comprehensive services.
