Historically, Thanksgiving is a celebration of a past year’s bountiful harvest. But as time goes on, this event has evolved into something bigger.
The Season of Giving
ALG Lawyers celebrates the Thanksgiving season by donating food to a local charity. This year we chose a local food pantry, Westside Food Bank. In total, ALG Lawyers donated a whopping 178 pounds worth of food to those in need. Among the donated items are packed grocery bags with cakes, canned goods, milk, and other foods that could complete a hearty dinner. Just like Westside Food Bank, ALG Lawyers believes that ending hunger is an important mission. All communities should have a reliable food network to ensure the availability of free nutritious food for all.
Why Do We Do This?
For Attorney A. John Kim, ALG Lawyers’ principal attorney, Thanksgiving is an important holiday, “Thanksgiving is a moment of reflection. It reminds us to be humble and grateful, especially during a long and difficult pandemic. We cannot have everything we want in the world, but if we sincerely cherish what is already ours, every moment becomes worthwhile.” Donating food to people in need is our way of giving back. ALG Lawyers believe that it should be grateful to society as a whole because, without it, we will cease to exist.
More to Come Next Year
ALG Lawyers plans to do another donation drive next year. We want to touch lives in a positive way, even beyond legal and administrative means.
