Uniting for Ukraine: A Streamlined Process for Displaced Ukrainians

If you or someone you know is a Ukrainian who fled their motherland because of Russia’s recent violent actions, “Uniting for Ukraine” can be a safe haven. What is Uniting for Ukraine?

Uniting for Ukraine is a DHS initiative that streamlines the process of allowing Ukrainian citizens to stay within the United States. It embodies the national government’s promise to extend humanitarian assistance to Ukraine while their animosities with Russia are still ongoing.

Individuals qualifying for Uniting for Ukraine can stay in the United States for two (2) years.

Eligibility

To qualify, interested applicants should be:

  • Ukrainian residents immediately prior to the Russian invasion that were displaced because of the Russian invasion.
  • Ukrainian citizens with a valid Ukrainian passport.
  • Non-Ukrainian citizens who are immediate family members of a Ukrainian citizen applying through Uniting for Ukraine.
  • Able to show that they have a supporter who filed a Form I-134, Declaration of Financial Support.
  • Completely vaccinated and compliant with other public health requirements.
  • Cleared with the biometric and biographic screenings and vetting security checks.

Minor children must be traveling to the United States with their parents or legal guardian.
